Dedicate the day to difficult truths: truths that flow from deep within. The folks in the video are dancing in public–that can be scary but the fear of telling the truth with coworkers, bosses, friends, and loved ones generates great aliveness. They were not the typical dancers you see in music videos, as they were of various ages and body shapes and were still brave enough to dance in public whilst strangers stared and recorded them. It reminds us of the relationship of truth and aliveness. In Sara Bareilles’ music video Brave the people dancing were the biggest encouragement. Check the last pic, my bald 2009 self with “Bumpy the Chemo Pump.” Although, I gotta say the kids in this music video have a whole lot more spirit than I did. The music video for “Truly Brave” features young cancer patients from The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. If not able to donate (times can be tough, trust me I know), go visit some kids in the hospital and incite some fun. All proceeds will go to grants for pediatric cancer research via the American Cancer Society.
